Dedicated to my band director, Michael Steele, who is perhaps the wisest, most wholehearted, and most compassionate person I have ever met. Thank you for inspiring me to reach for the stars, and for supporting me along my journey to achieve things I never would have thought possible.

Centered around several three-note motives, this energetic piece is inspired by Mr. Steele's iconic "Three Things," or words of wisdom that he shares at the end of each rehearsal, reminding us:

• 1. To be good to one another
• 2. To make someone's day better, whenever possible
• 3.To always look forward to the next opportunity we get to make music together
